Whanau Tautoko Wellness Grant

 Introduction:

The 2018 meeting of Owners approved the establishment of a grant for individuals and whanau who are disadvantaged or prevented from moving forward because of a financial crisis.

Te Hanga North Land Trust Wellness Grant was developed in 2019. It is to assist individuals and whanau who have or are experiencing hardship or extraordinary need.

It is specifically to provide support to Owners in the Te Hanga North Land blocks and their whanau.

Criteria – Who can apply:

1. Owners or whanau members of an owner may apply

2. Whakapapa connection does need to be proved and

3. Applications will receive more favour if they are accompanied by a recommendation from an owner

How are the decisions made to approve an application?

Each application will be assessed on its merit. It is important that all the information necessary for the Trustees to make an informed decision is supplied when submitting the application.

If more than one application is received from the same whanau within the year, the second and further applications may not receive the same level of priority as the original application.

If an application is unsuccessful you may apply again in the future.

The decision of the Trustees is final.

The grant is available throughout the year.

The application needs to be done on the proper form, submitted to the correct location and receipt of the application retained.

What information should we supply?

Along with the full and completed application also provide

1. Proof of identification (whakapapa and link to an owner)

2. Copies of the debt or expense which you are asking for assistance with

3. Details of who the debt is owed including bank account number, name etc

How long will it take to process an application?

Every effort will be made to process the application in a timely manner. We will let you know when it has been received, please allow 4-6 weeks from this date of receipt.

How will payment be made?

The Trust will make an electronic fund transfer to the business, agency or department concerned.

No payments will be made to the applicant or their whanau.

Please provide all relevant information that will support your application and assist us in making a decision. Failure to provide adequate evidence will delay the process or result in a declined application. Invoices or receipts must show clearly your details with the outstanding payment.
